In most cases, no. A quality under-sink water filter is designed to maintain strong, consistent water flow with minimal impact on your existing household pressure. You may notice a slight reduction in flow rate through the dedicated filter tap, particularly with reverse osmosis systems, which use a separate dispensing tap and a storage tank. However, this is normal and does not affect the rest of your home's water supply.
The best way to maintain optimal pressure over time is to keep up with scheduled filter cartridge replacements. As a cartridge reaches the end of its service life, flow can gradually reduce. With Clean & Clear Water's annual service reminders and our 10-year service guarantee, we make it easy to stay on top of maintenance so your system continues to perform at its best.
For most under-sink and whole-home filtration systems, we recommend replacing filter cartridges every 12 months. This timeframe is a general guide and can vary depending on your household water consumption and the quality of water in your area.
For reverse osmosis systems, the sediment and carbon pre-filters are typically replaced annually, while the RO membrane itself generally lasts two to three years under normal use.
To take the guesswork out of it, we send all our customers a reminder when their service is due. Our qualified technicians will come to you, replace the cartridges, and check that everything is running as it should, all with no call-out fee.
